Crescendo Club Officers

Parent volunteers are extremely important to the Crescendo Club. Each of our parent volunteer officers gives their time to help support the music programs within the district.  Officers are elected annually based on the by-laws of the organization.

President

Tom is a proud Chardon parent with two students involved with music, Mackenzie ('26) & Katelyn ('30). Tom graduated from Chagrin Falls High School and was heavily involved with band, music, and performance programs. Tom and his wife Karen both participate in the Crescendo club.

Gina Piotrkowski

Secratary

Gina is happy to support Chardon’s music program as Crescendo Club Secretary.   All four of her children have found joy in Chardon’s vocal and instrumental offerings, and they have grown greatly as musicians with remarkable Through music, I met my husband, and we raise our kids in a home where music is inexplicably woven through our lives. Music can shape and heighten our experiences as individuals, families, and community members!  Let’s keep music strong in our schools and hearts!

Music Faculty

Our music educators are an extremely important part of the Crescendo Club. Each faculty member participates in monthly meetings to guide the financial resources of our organization.

Tracy Paroubek

CMS Band/8th Grade Band

Tracy directs band in both Chardon Middle school and the 8th grade band. l as well as the Chardon Schools Jazz Band. She has been in the Chardon District for 14 years.  Prior to Chardon, she taught in Cedarville and Fairport Harbor districts. She routinely performs in her church music group and is a member of the Lakeland Civic Band. Tracey has performed with the Mentor High School Wind Ensemble, Mentor High School Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, the Ohio State University Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, University Band, and University Choir.

Melissa Lichtler

CHS Concert, Marching Band

Melissa Lichtler has both her Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Master’s Degree in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University. As a band director in the Chardon Local Schools her duties include Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Fifth Grade Band, Pit Orchestra, Jazz Band & Jazz Orchestra, and teaching History of Rock and Roll. Ms. Lichtler also has the honor of being the conductor of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony II Symphonic Winds at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Fritz Streiff

CHS, CMS Choir

Mr. Streiff has been the Chardon choral director since 2007.  Mr. Streiff completed his Bachelor's degree at Baldwin-Wallace University & Music Conservatory and a Masters's degree at the University of Akron. He leads the 5th-12th grade choirs in Chardon, featuring the top academic choir, the CHS Chamber Ensemble.  Mr. Streiff serves as music and lighting director for the CHS Drama program. Mr. Streiff, his wife Alison, and two sons, Philip and Luke reside in Chardon.  We are proud to be Hilltoppers!

Sharon Monarchino

Park Elementary Music

Sharon Monarchino has been with Chardon Schools for over 20 years. Prior to Chardon, she was a teacher with the Euclid City Schools. She currently is the music instructor for Park Elementary and assists with classes at Chardon Middle School. Mrs. Monarchino holds both Bachelors's and Master's degrees from Lake Erie College. She is an avid animal lover and is a graduate of Chardon Schools.

Samantha Puterbaugh

Munson Elementary Music

Samantha Puterbaugh is a proud Chardon graduate and has taught elementary general music in Chardon for 7 years. Mrs. Puterbaugh attended Cleveland State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. She currently attends Case Western Reserve University, working towards her Master of Arts in Music Education. Her main instruments are the clarinet, piano, and now the ukulele! Mrs. Puterbaugh loves teaching her wonderful students at Munson and Park Elementary, and especially enjoys teaching alongside her former teachers at Munson! In her spare time, Mrs. Puterbaugh enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and cats.
